Starting my career selling double glazing at 17, I went on to build an enterprise worth hundreds of millions. It’s not always been easy and I’ve had my share of setbacks along the way, but I now employ over 1000 people directly and indirectly across my portfolio of companies. Looking back over my 35 years in business, I know that if I had had the right mentors and teachers at the time, I would have avoided many mistakes. From my own learnings as an entrepreneur, I’ve created my unique business system which I use in all the companies I work with and invest in. Achieving financial freedom is the goal for many, yet people so often believe this is out of their reach. The first question I ask founders and businesses I work with is “Do you really know what you want”? You need to be able to answer this and have a clear vision of where you want to get to, in all areas of your life, before you can get there. As a business mentor and investor I work with a number of companies, one example is Garcon Wines. When we met, their business model was a wine club with an eco friendly flat packed wine bottle, a novel idea but with high acquisition costs. I encouraged them to pivot toward a bigger opportunity, supplying their bottle to large companies globally. This has paid off and the company is going from strength to strength. I have investments in insurance, tech, travel and consumer brands. Together with the entrepreneurs and investors in my network, I am currently offering the chance to apply for investment, with no upper limit.
